Thank you once again for your enthusiastic participation during the Metrics Workshop held in late February 2021. Copious amounts of work went into synthesizing the results from the live voting during the workshop to a final list of metrics for each UFS application. When possible, each list was placed into four tiers to potentially align with research-to-operations (R2O) gates. The outcome represents a historic effort to define community-vetted metrics for evaluation of the UFS. Now that the final lists are completed, the metrics will be built into the EMC Verification System (EVS), which will be used as the baseline for future transition-to-operations (T2O) decisions.
The workshop committee is developing a final report but wanted to release the final lists as soon as possible. We have also included the “workbooks” documenting the guidance during the post-workshop process. These include 1) the recommendations of subject matter experts; 2) the fields that are not currently available for evaluation, and 3) the observations/analyses deemed not available, or not quite ready, for use as a source for evaluation. We thank all of the committee members and subject matter experts who helped fill in the details and provided thoughtful suggestions.
We invite you to also review the presentation, summarizing the work performed and was briefed to the UFS Steering Committee on October 29, 2021. Finally, all of the information gathered and presentations made before, during, and after the workshop can be found in the 2021 DTC UFS Evaluation Metrics Workshop folder.
