Announcing the conclusion of DTC’s community support for GSI/EnKF

Dear GSI/EnKF community users,

The Developmental Testbed Center (DTC) has announced a timeline to end support for the GSI/EnKF user community. Beginning 1 October 2021, the DTC data assimilation team has discontinued support for inquiries on the GSI/EnKF support forum, and by the end of December 2021 will cease all activities supporting the GSI/EnKF user community. 

Most assets built by DTC over the past 10 years for GSI/EnKF community support remain available and fixed in a useable way going forward, including:

• GSI/EnKF websites, which include downloads, documentation, and tutorials from the last public release.
• GSI/EnKF support forum. While DTC no longer responds to inquiries, this resource will remain available as an archive of information as well as a space for the GSI/EnKF user community to interact.
• GSI/EnkF authoritative repository. DTC will no longer provide support to inquiries on this repository. A brief guide is provided on how to build the latest GSI/EnKF.

DTC would like to take this opportunity to thank community users for using GSI/EnKF as your tools to advance data assimilation theories and applications. It has been an honor to be part of this advancement for the past ten years.
