Unified Forecast System (UFS)

The Unified Forecast System (UFS) is a coupled Earth-prediction modeling system being developed by scientists and software engineers across the Weather Enterprise. It includes contributions from government, academia, and private industry collaborators. The UFS provides operational weather forecasts with verification capabilities, and is flexible enough to be used by the research community for scientific inquiry. The various UFS applications span local to global domains and time scales from sub-hourly to seasonal predictions. The DTC is an integral part of UFS development, and plays key roles in evaluating new techniques and enhancements to the system performance while also supporting some of its components and full applications to the community.
