Legacy Software/Tools
In the past, the DTC was responsible for supporting additional software packages that are no longer central to the DTC’s mission:
- Ensemble Kalman Filter (EnKF)
- Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) Vortex Tracker for Tropical Cyclones
- Gridpoint Statistical Interpolation (GSI)
- Hurricane WRF (HWRF)
- Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) containers
- Unified Post Processing System (UPP)
The DTC has discontinued providing the community with access to the documentation and tutorial materials for these packages from at the beginning of April 2024 as part of an overhaul of the DTC website.
Software/Tools supported by EPIC
In the early days of the Unified Forecast System (UFS), the DTC established an initial support framework for UFS applications. These support responsibilities have been transitioned to the Earth Prediction Innovation Center (EPIC). The DTC’s UFS webpage is no longer maintained and was removed at the beginning of April 2024. All parties interested in engaging with UFS are advised to consult the EPIC website.
