Unified Post Processor (UPP) for WRF | Requesting Help

About UPP help

New Support System:

Beginning October 1, 2020, the upp-help@ucar.edu helpdesk has been retired and is no longer active.  In its place, UPP users should post questions to a web-based forum. There are two forums of interest to UPP users:

  • For general UPP topics including build and runtime issues, as well as any UFS questions, users should direct their questions to the post-processing section of the UFS forum:

  • For questions regarding using UPP with WRF model data, users should direct questions to the post-processing/upp section of the WRF forum:

https://forum.mmm.ucar.edu/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=98

The DTC UPP team will be monitoring and responding to questions on the UFS forum, and for a limited time the WRF forum as well. However, please note that as previously announced, formal support of the UPP for WRF model applications is being retired over the course of the next several months.  We encourage UPP-WRF users to continue to post questions to the WRF forum to leverage and increase the extensive existing community knowledge.

How to report a problem

If you would like to report a problem or request assistance, please direct your question to the appropriate forum, making use of the subject line to indicate the issue. If you have received an error message in attempting to compile and run the system software, please include it in the email.

For compilation problems, return the code to the original state (e.g. by typing clean -a, or begin with a new tar file), recompile, and save the compilation output to a file, and send it in the email. If you have made modification to the code, always test the provided code first.

For run-time problems, locate the error messages, and include them in the email. In addition, including your full error logs and the run script and script output, as well as configure details, is helpful.

You may also want to check the FAQs and Known Problems for the version you are using to see if your problem has been previously reported.
