Notice: As of July 2022, DTC has ceased all activities supporting the HWRF Developers community. We encourage active developers to transition to using the Unified Forecast System (UFS) Hurricane Application for research and development efforts aimed at improvements to the operational system.

HWRF Developers Page

This website provides legacy information regarding the HWRF code repository, information about code management and how to contribute code back to the HWRF, details on how to check out, build and update your code, and information on testing. These assets built by the DTC for HWRF developer support will remain available and fixed in a usable way for the foreseeable future. Note that with the exception of developers still collaborating directly with NOAA EMC on HWRF improvements, active developers are encouraged to move to the Unified Forecast System (UFS) Hurricane Application for research and development efforts aimed at improvements to the operational system.

The DTC Hurricane team would like to take this opportunity to thank the HWRF developer community for your substantial impact on transitioning research innovations into the operational HWRF system. It has been an honor to be part of this incredible community for the past ten years.
