Once "module load met/8.1" is run, you should be able to run MET tools without specifying a path (e.g. grid_stat rather than /path-to-MET build/bin/grid_stat).
If you run into segfaults or other unexpected behavior, try running "module purge" first, and then rerun the module commands above.
